Rebate Processing – a Look Inside

Recently, a new work from home business, rebate processing, has come about. There are a number of websites and companies offering training to those interested in becoming certified rebate processors. You are paid $15 per transaction and all that is required is that you fill in some simple forms. You can work part time or full time.

Well, I took it upon myself to spend the $39 on rebate-processor.com for the sake of research and this is what I found…

The first step is to create an account with an affiliate service called ClickBank. This is a third party service that primarily manages the affiliate accounts for several thousands of informational products.

Rebate Processor .com provides step by step instructions guiding you through the sign up process with ClickBank. They also guide you through retrieving your “hoplink” or affiliate ID with products of your choice.

Your next step is to begin selecting companies and products that you would like to work with and process rebates for. Ironically, their suggestion is to select other work from home opportunities and home based business informational products, such as Ebooks and online courses.

The third step provides the following list of options: – create a blog, – place ads on free classified, – send opt in emails – place ads on pay per click – article marketing

A blog is defined as: a contraction of the term “Web log” is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject while others function as more personal online diaries

The primary direction provided by rebate processor .com is to use Blogger.com, which in my opinion is bad advice. You see, Blogger.com is owned by Google therefor you do not own your domain name or blog, Google does.

Google is very stringent in enforcing its policies on Blogger and are known to shut down blogs for days at a time while they research its legitimacy, I have experienced this myself. So, I would suggest that you avoid using Blogger.com for anything more than blogging for fun.

Placing ads on free classified sites is very time consuming and yields very poor results, again, I know this because I have tested it. Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Internet Explorer do not display these ads. Someone must purposely seek out a free classified ad website and do a search on your product of choice in order to find your ad.

When a person seeks out a free classified website, they are doing so to find a used car, a antique winchester rifle or a puppy, not a work from home digital informational product.

To purchase a decent mailing with qualified prospects that are seeking the information that you are promoting will cost you about a dollar to two dollars per email. The average number of emails vs to average number of people who open and purchase through this email is 100 to 1.

If you are making $15 off of that one sale, that means you are spending at least $100 to make $15. That is not a wise business decision.

Many internet marketing gurus have written Ebooks on the science that is Pay Per Click advertising. For those of you who are new to the internet, search engines like Yahoo, Google and MSN have a form of paid advertising. This advertising is similar to ads on TV and in magazines and newspapers. This is called Pay Per Click and it is just like it sounds. When a person clicks on your ad, you pay a fee.

Some ads are as little as $.05 a click but many ads are well over $5.00 and up. Not only is there the cost of pay per click but there is learning how to properly set up an effective ad campaign. Google is the main player in the game of pay per click, and if you don’t take the time to set up your ads per their rules your prices with skyrocket or they will shut you down completely. Enough said.

Finally is article marketing. At this very moment, you are witnessing an example of article marketing. This is one of the better pieces of advice that rebate processor .com provides its customers. But, again, this is skill that takes some time to learn and perform effectively.

Many article directory websites have policies that do not allow you to use affiliate links in your articles and the content of your article needs to be of a certain level in order to be published.

So what do you think? Is rebate processing what you thought it would be? Want to know even more of the little details? I have created a screen capture video that gives you an exclusive look inside rebate processor.com. Head over to http://rebateprocessingisascam.com right away.

Bird Flu A Ticking Bomb

Although the earliest occurrences of avian influenza date back to 1997, when an outbreak in Hong Kong was swiftly dealt with and managed to be contained after causing 6 human deaths, it is the disease’s most recent history, from late 2003 onwards, that is seen as a very worrying sign for the situation’s future development. After only random cases between 1997 and 2003, Hong Kong and China reported various cases that signalled the start of a rapid spread of the virus across Asia. A couple of years later and the question is still being asked: is avian influenza a real threat to world health or will this become just another ‘has been’ news story? The SARS disease was another killer thought to have the potential to evolve and cause major social disruption. However, it was eventually contained and other headlines have taken its place.

If we are to believe international experts such as the World Health Organization officials, we are not far away from a flu pandemic. But this warning exists for a while now and apart from millions of birds being killed in Asia and some regular human victims every once in a while, the great ‘plague’ is yet to come. The issue is still an avian one, as birds are the virus’ natural host. However the fear is that a possible mutation of such a virus strain could cause it to easily spread between humans. There are suspicions that this has already taken place in the case of an Indonesian family that was decimated by the virus. Therefore, international authorities show concerns over the inability of some countries to contain the outbreaks of the disease among their poultry population. This is the case with Asian countries, a continent where the illness has caused the death of tens of millions of birds. Culling of birds in an infected region is seen as the most effective way of preventing the spread.

Based on estimates that say that hundreds of millions of people could succumb to the avian flu disease in the case of a world wide flu epidemic, governments are racing to prepare for such an event. Plans are put together, surveillance programs are trying to detect the earliest signs of a possible bird flu infection in either wild or domestic birds and flu drugs are being stockpiled as the only way to treat patients. Although an effective and proven vaccine for the illness is yet to be found, several publicly funded or independent companies are doing research into the virus and how it can be stopped. Periodically, autumn and winter is seen as a perfect season for the disease to evolve into a world killer. Migratory birds are the most common source for the virus and starting September, their migration is thought to have the potential of taking the viral agent to new territories.

If we are to look on the other side, there are plenty of opponents to the bird flu fears. Not just people who look to the issue with disbelief, but strong supporters of a conspiracy theory. People such as Dr. Stephan Lanka, a German biologist who is disputing basic generally agreed facts such as the existence of viruses itself. It is in the end a matter of personal opinion how one takes to the matter. But with strong warnings that this is not something to joke around with, on one hand, and constant reassurances that the virus has some way to go before reaching its deadly arm into the Western hemisphere, it seems one could turn their attention to more stringent matters.

George Velicu is the senior editor at Bird Flu Center and the man responsible for making the website one of the most comprehensive sources for avian influenza information on the internet. He is also the one keeping a daily record of bird flu’s developments.
